Why are we here?

For millions of years, people keep thinking what created them, what is the meaning of life, why on earth they are living…

Good questions…

For generations, we humans tried to improve ourselves and search for an answer for those questions. But in the end, what do we get? Ancient people thought they had found the answer, but had they? Their ‘answers’ are only imagination—maybe some of them are right—and they’re not facts.

But why? Why they keep creating something that didn’t exist?

……

There must be a real thing, a real thing that really existed—or exists. Many mysteries can be solved if one of those legendary creatures is true.

Do you reckon that aliens might be legendary creatures?

Yeah, I do think so…

Can you see the object above the mountain? It might be a airplane, but not for ancient people...

In some history record of ancient China, some peasant saw some unknown flying object flew above their land. They described that it has ‘wheels’ and ‘light’, and it shaped like round cloud. Isn’t it’s like the UFOs?

But sometimes this kind of witness might be wrong too. This maybe cause by a person’s believe and, truth, there’s no spectacle for short-sighted people in that time.

Ancient people, who don’t know anything about ‘fly’ and ‘alien’, may think that the UFO is what they called ‘god’ or ‘legendary beast’…

A flying legendary creature, like a gryphon, might be one of the imagination based from an UFO...

Sun Gods

Almost all civilization has their own sun god, but there are many different between them.

Greek sun god, Apollo.

For example, the sun god of Greece is the son of Zeus. Here's my correction, for your information, sometimes Apollo was named as Helios (the titan I did mentioned before). He plays harp and always carries bow and arrows. I've read about him, nearly nothing bad about him can be found. He might be the only holy god in Greek mythology.

Egyptian sun god, Amum Ra (the symbol of the staff).

Ra, the famous major god of Egypt was an eagle-headed god. He, however, is different with Apollo. He is the friend of Osiris, they often appear together in pictures.

The desert sun is killing hot.

In the Sahara desert, sun is the most recent murderer. This might be the reason why the Egyptian reckoned that the sun is the mightiest.

The sun god's mask of Maya.

As I said, Mayan also worshiped sun god. Besides of serpent, sun remains as a important thing for Middle American. Corps and the jungle grows better because of the sun light. Mayan sun god is always a stone statue, we haven't know what the sun god looks like yet...

Chinese sun dragon.

Chinese believed that in ancient time there were ten suns, the dragons take turns to bring the suns to travel along the sky. But one day all of the suns wanted to come out together, so people suffer from heat and dry. At last, a god shot nine down but he left one. The suns are the sons of the gods, therefore the hero was punished to become a human.

What if a Time Traveler Went to The Past?

My very first post in year 2005.

This is a question that bothered people since my favorite Mr. Einstein said that if a person move with the speed of light manages to travel through time.

True, he can finds out how dinosaurs became extinct, and solve many mysteries which bothered us for centuries. But this isn't fun; a time traveler may trap in history and never come back. But we don't need to worry about this until human discovered how to travel through time.

Okay, let’s get start.

First, I’ll list out some mysteries that may done by a time traveler:

1) The Pyramid: Of course, the advance knowledge to build such wonder needs a future guy to pass on.

2) Middle America people's Origin: What the Bible said maybe right, but there maybe another explanation.

3) Atlantis: Although this civilization might not be existed, but it might hide itself with advance technology.

4) The Real Existence of Gods and Legendary Creature: A time traveler will know if gods and legendary creatures are only an imagination, or not.

And more…

What I care about the most is the fourth point; some of the gods are beyond human’s imagination. Besides, there are too many gods and legends, how could people create such many thing within half of the years of the first human’s civilization?

Advance technology is something that bothers me too. If you’d study history carefully, you’ll discover that before the Middle Age, every important invention has an interval of time at least 500 years, with each other. A civilization like Atlantis couldn’t be possible to improve in such speed.

This is my own opinion:
What we called 'alien' maybe the future human, who knows how time travel works. If, only 'if', the earth's environment changed in the future, all living thing will evolve and variation will happens. Human's characteristic will change, of course.

My prediction:
Yes, we’ll know how to travel through time in the future.

School Day~

Well, the school is going to start 2 days later. This is the last post for the year 2004, but I have nothing to say. Usually, my idea comes when I saw something unique, like clouds or something alike.

When the school starts, I’ll publish less post at my blog, but at least 3 days/ a post. Well, I’ve got a faster network connection speed, so in the future I’ll be able to make my blog better.

Modern Mythology

The word ‘mythology’ always gives people an image of old time and ancient lifestyle, but actually it presents itself in our modern life too.

I like the Saturn's moon, Titan. Beautiful name...

Many planets are named after the name of gods and goddesses, like Mercury, Jupiter, Uranus……these planets’ characteristic reminded people about the ancient gods. This habit starts from the Renaissance, when people discovered a more complete solar system. Even modern invention also named after the gods’ name. Like ‘Thor’ the tank, was named by the name of the thunder god of Norse. The main characters, who symbolize the lucky stuff of the latest Olympic Game, were also named Athena and Phatos.

The name ‘Gaia’ often used to symbolize the mother earth, or something else related. While ‘Titan’ was a word means gigantic, Titanic was named after it.

Some festival is a part of ancient myths and art too; every festival has its own unique story. Most of them are legend, which involved gods or legendary creature.

There are also many unsolved mysteries on earth, which related with myths and legends. In 20 century, it’s the age of mysteries. Most of the unsolved problems are discovered by that time. For example, the Bermuda Triangle and one of the seven wonders, Pyramid. Wonders are the most popular topic for archeologist and scientist, Pyramid is the most mysterious stuff I’ve ever heard. The chemical reaction which occurs inside the Pyramid and the mummification are what scientist cared the most.

There maybe some unique civilization which hasn’t been discovered, until now. Some places are less population or less visitors, may have a hidden civilization. Like the Sahara Desert, the South Pole, the Pacific Ocean, and Greenland. Some scientist said that the earth is hollow, and there is an advance city in it.

The art and legend won’t disappear, because they are crystallizing of human’s thought.

The Titans

Gaia, the mother of Titans.

The Titans were giants who live a million years earlier than human, in Greek myths. Some Titans are human like, while the others have animal’s characteristic. The Titans are the children of the sky god, Oranus (in some legend, he was named ‘Uranus’) and the god of the land, Gaia. Zeus was given birth by them too.

Almost all Titans like battle, except Prometheus. He was the Titan who taught human how to use fire and build stone houses. But this is only a Greek tale; historical record told us that human discovered fire themselves.

The Titans have many generations; it was mainly divided into two parts:

The generation before Zeus;

And the generation after Zeus.

Almost all Titans after Zeus become gods; some Titan even shares the same ‘occupation’ with Greek god. Like Helios the Titan is same with Apollo the sun god, they both guard the sun.

Titan, however, with his own huge body, didn’t live on earth. They also live in the Heaven above Mount Olympus. Some wonders are built in the Titan’s honor, for example, the great Colossus of Rhodes. But this wonder was destroyed, until now, nobody can totally proof that this thing existed.

An existence of a Titan is impossible. If a baby continues to grow with the speed when he was inside his mother’s body, the Titan maybe exist. This baby will grow until 2km, but this isn’t enough to reach the height of a Titan.

Ghost

Every civilization’s myths mentioned ghost or devil, they signifying the bad and evil side. But are they?

Not all of them are evil; some ghost in Chinese tales helps people. If ghost really exist, then it must be a matter. But what kind of matter they are? They maybe gas, because some tale described it as something invincible or transparency. But if it is a living thing, it can be neither gas, nor liquid. An organism must be solid, but movable. Ghost can move, as many stories tell, so it must be a living thing. It has spirit, or it is a spirit.

It is something solid but untouchable? This seems unexplainable, or even ridiculous. But if different space exist, a ghost maybe true, too. If a ghost is a thing in other space, but in a same time with our space, there maybe a conflict or combination between these spaces.

But is a ghost really a spirit of a human being? After we died, what happened with our mind?

This seems difficult to be explained.

Is ghost only a matter of light?

In the Middle Age, many people saw witches communicate with spirits. Some improper religion worshiped Satan in the Middle Age, too. They believe their soul will be strengthened. Some photos have proofed that ghost exist, but this maybe a creation of light.

Is human like a robot, after it has been destroyed, then it has gone forever? Or something still there?

Curses

Many Egyptian and Greek myths involved curses, witches and mummies are often related. In modern ages, the explorers of Egyptian Pyramid often get sick or died after they enter the sealed chamber inside a pyramid. Somebody says it was the curse to punish the person who bothers the Pharaoh. In Greek legend, even weapons are curse to be stronger.

If we explain these curses with scientific facts, we may get several points:

Coincidence, many things could happen in anytime;

There maybe some decease or harmful chemical matter inside the pyramid which can make a person dies.

More advance technology, it maybe just a better weapon dealing with others.

No history record that proof a curse really happens.

Curses can make a person lost his confidence, and also can strengthen a person. If a person believe it, he will surely affected by it. This is a matter of trust, it’s a personal concept.

Witch are frighten by people in the Middle Age.

In the Middle Age, witches were the scariest thing that people fright of. But nothing serious was done by witches, only blind prophecy. Oh yeah, some prediction was related with curse also. Like some prophet who predict havoc will happen or some leader will die etc.

Curse is like a prophecy, it depends on chances.

The Element

Ancient Greek thought of what is the origin of everything, scholar of metallurgy said that the world was built by the four elements: air, fire, water, and soil; while the Chinese said that the main elements are fire, water, gold, wood, and soil. The similarity between them is both of their deduction contains fire, water, and soil.

Modern metallurgy.

Fire, water, and soil are the most common thing in our daily life. Fire, a gas that needs enough heat, a combustion helper, and enough Oxygen to fire up, was discovered by human in Stone Age. It maybe started by a lighting bolt, but ancient people still don’t understand what fire made of. Like the Sun, fire symbolizing heat. I think this is why people listed fire as their main element. They know the importance of heat.

Water, soil are important for corps growing, people choose what are important for them as the main elements which brought life to this world. But air contain many types of element (as we known in modern discovery), plus it is untouchable, people cannot study it easily. But sometime when some chemical change occurs in the air, the air’s color may change. The air is a sensitive thing; Greeks do many times of experience to discover its profile, this maybe the factor of air being a part of the main elements.

Some gods are the guardian of an element, the elemental god. Like the sea gods in each civilization, they are the symbol of water. People admired the ocean for a long period; the deep blue sea gave them the space of imagination. Fire god, like the guardian (I don’t really know his name) who guards the volcanic place in Norse tale.

Actually, the origins of life forms are Oxygen, Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Carbon, Sulphur, and Phosphorus (you must remember this six). Human took a long time to discover things, starts with the first step: imagine.

Somewhere the Gods were...

In many legends, savannah, desert, mountain, sky, sea, river, cave…etc is always where gods or oracles stay. I reckon that a place that hasn’t discover by people often become a holy place for gods. Sometimes, some of the places might be a monster’s nest.

Mountain is mysterious for ancient people.

Legendary tales often involved desert or mountain, I wonder why. But I have a few opinions:

Ancient people don’t have advance transportation to go across the deadly desert, maybe someone died while he was passing the desert. Water is rare in a desert, and human need water. But sometimes mirage happens in the middle of desert, and spotted by people. They might think that it was a living thing, but if human can’t live in the middle of a desert, who else? Finally, they said there was something called ‘god’. Some ancient people thought gods were living thing, I guess.

Mountain is always covered by mist; people don’t have advance technology to see through it. So, they imagined that something (someone) doesn’t expect to be discovered, without a serious thinking, they said that is a god. Monster maybe one of the living things on the mountain, and people might think that it was the god. Many kinds of animals live in the forested mountain; some might be uncommon for local villagers, because they maybe haven’t seen this before.

Sky is the most popular place where gods gather together, in human thought. This untouchable thing let them think that it is the most suitable place for a holy god. Clouds and star are the ‘land’ for god, while there are palaces upon the sky for gods to live.

Some creepy place like cave and deep lake might frighten some people; they thought there is some monster or dragon live inside. In conclusion, people imagine where the gods live because of their fear, curiosity and ignorant.

The God and Human

Sometime I ask myself, god(s) created us or we created the god(s)?

This is a tough question, hah?

Some religion said that the Creator created all things in the world, this support my first deduction. But according to scientific theory, told by Darwin, people were evolved by ape. The evolution of mammals denied the Creator, totally.

Yes, I must obey my first law of this blog: Any article or comment in this blog must obey the scientific law, theory can be ignored. There’s a conflict between the third law and the first law. But, if there is some historical record that can support the second law, the third law will be weakened.

But no human saw what happened before they exist, this is impossible. This is a question involved different religion’s concept, thus strengthened the third law.

The most wanted thing is your comment, your answer…I’ll conclude them someday.

The Pandora’s Box

Pandora's Box contains many feelings...

Have you heard about the Pandora’s Box? Many years ago, the gods of Greece kept ‘sorrow’, ‘bad’, ‘evil’, ‘greedy’, ‘sadness’, and many kinds of feeling into a box. This box was guarded by a girl named Pandora. He was told not to open the box, but his curiosity makes him to open it. Then the things inside the box were released, those bad feeling went into human’s heart, and then people started to hate each other…but there is one more thing that brighten the world, hope.

So, what do you think? Hope, yeah, it always lets us to be joyful and happier. Human have many kinds of feeling, either bad or god, they are balance. But if one side is stronger than another, the person will be affected.

We have to try to control our emotion or mood, try not to affect another person because of our unhappiness.

Ideas—Wanted!

Argh…my brain is blank; I have no idea what to post on this blog. If you do have any idea, any, just post it on this article.

Nowadays, I’m studying history, but I don’t get enough information and what I get are in a mess. And I discovered something different between history and mythology, year. I can’t get a proper year or age in mythology study, when I refer to different information; I get different number of year.

Maybe I'm a soldier in WW2...

Have you heard about your ‘previous existence’? Nah…some religion doesn’t agree with it. Anyway, talked of religion, it’s tough for me, too. I had to care about it, if I don’t want to hurt anybody. A religious believe affect a person deeply. Okay, back to my question, this is a matter of mystery. You see, nobody can proof where do a man goes after his death. And his soul may reborn as another person.

I asked this question because yesterday I stared at my hands, it made me thought of who am I if there is a previous existence of me. Maybe many years ago, I’d once stared at own hands also…

Whatever, I just hope you, anyone, can give me your idea, or what you want me to answer, for me to post something fresh. Thanks.

Sacrificial Ceremony

A cow was killed to pray the god.

The cruelest act of human is sacrificing someone without proper reason; it’s wasting a person’s life. Everyone has his/her own right to live. But ancient people didn’t care about this; they simply sacrifice a person for rain or healthier crops. Some cruel kings kill their own people without reason to take out his anger.

The Maya Empire was one of the nations which sacrificed most people. The territory of Maya in the Middle America sometimes experience the hot season, and the crops doesn’t grow properly. So the Mayan simply kills a person with a sacrificial knife or pushes them into a sacrificial pool. Egyptian and some cruel Chinese emperor also order somebody to be sacrificed for better weather.

Some natural phenomenon also causes a person to be sacrificed, like eclipse. Ancient people thought that an eclipse happens because the gods are raging. To release the wrath, the gods let people to suffer without a sun. This case tells us about the ignorant of ancient people, they are short of science knowledge.

But sometime a sacrifice must be done, for an example, war. For millions of years, people battle to gain benefits, to expand their territory, to become a conqueror or an emperor, for wealth. But in this progress, somebody might have to die. Many soldier or even a commander has to sacrifice himself in the battle. But this kind of sacrifice is worthy, they’ll be remembered.

Sometimes, we have to pay to get something we want.

Something about Predictions, again

I read about something about prophecy today, I concluded the inconsistency of predictions:

1) In some predictions, the words used by the prophet or oracle are not clear enough to have a proper meaning, they may have another meaning;
2) Some prophets or oracles made too many predictions and increased the percentage to make a right prediction.

There is nothing 100% true, much less prophecy!
